Cassandra Lawton

Cassandra Lawton is a student in the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts program. With a master’s in social work and an MFA, she researches the healing benefits of creative writing in therapeutic and community spaces. She serves as the Editor-In-Chief of Jenny Magazine. She has fiction published in Bridge: The Bluffton Literary Journal and Rubbertop Review, nonfiction published in Entropy and Anomaly, and poetry published or forthcoming in Volney Road Review, I Become The Beast, and Laurel Review. Assistant Editor

Hope Hefright

Hope Hefright is an undergraduate student studying graphic design with a minor in marketing at Youngstown State University. Her favorite genres are fiction and sci-fi as well as graphic novels. In her free time she loves to draw, paint, and of course, read.


Poetry Editor

Anastasios Mihalopoulos

Anastasios Mihalopoulos is a Greek/Italian American and is currently an MFA candidate in the Northeast Ohio MFA program. He holds a BS in both chemistry and English from Allegheny College. His work has appeared in Foothill Poetry Journal and Volney Road Review. His writing often deals with various landscapes and mythologies as a means of mending a fractured self. He enjoys spending time in nature often on a surfboard or a hiking trail where he develops most of his ideas. Anastasios grew up in Boardman, Ohio.


Fiction Editors

Hannah Werle

Hannah Werle is an honors student and sophomore at YSU, pursuing a double major in English and Journalism. She loves to learn, and some of her other favorite topics are political science, history, religious studies, music, and art. Aside from an obvious love of reading and writing, she spends her free time painting, sleeping, and painstakingly assembling Spotify playlists for very specific, unrelatable experiences (mostly between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.). Some of her accomplishments include serving three years as a writer and editor for her high school’s newspaper, becoming president of her high school’s art club, interning at the Youngstown Business Journal, and joining the staff at Jenny Magazine.


Katelyn Urs

Katelyn Urs earned her B.A. in English with a minor in creative writing at Youngstown State University. She served as a writing intern at the Youngstown Jewish Community Center and there, she helped her clients undergo narrative therapy as she developed their personal stories into chapter books. Additionally, Katelyn worked as a writing consultant at YSU’s Writing Center and was recently hired as a development coordinator at the literary arts non-profit Lit Youngstown. This is her second year working with Jenny Magazine.


Nonfiction Editor

Colleen Rowland

Colleen Rowland is a sophomore in the Honors College at Youngstown State University. She is pursuing a major in psychology and a minor in creative writing. This is her first year working on Jenny Magazine. Colleen works for the YSU athletic department and also is a personal dog trainer. She enjoys reading and writing psychological thrillers.


Copy Editor

Mary Dippolito

Mary Dippolito is a Public & Professional Writing student in her sophomore year at YSU. She writes science fiction and personal essays and in her free time runs an open-table tabletop gaming club every other Monday at the Westside Bowl.


Readers

Paula Jeffery

Paula Jeffery is a student at Youngstown State University studying for a degree in English. This is her first year working with Jenny Magazine. She hopes to work in publishing after University and to publish her own novel. In her free time, you can find her curled up in a blanket working on her latest school essay or story idea that comes to her mind. Outside of writing she spends a lot of time consuming any nerdy media she can and enjoying anything related to horror.


Sabrina Johnson


Brandon Cantwell

Brandon Cantwell is a junior at Youngstown State University. He is majoring in Journalism and minoring in English Studies.  He also works as a correspondent for The Vindicator. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, reading, and collecting trading cards.


Heather Sutherin

Heather Sutherin is a second-year MFA student at YSU, her focus is Fiction in Creative Writing. She is an avid fantasy, sci-fi, and horror/horror-comedy writer and reader. She wants to explore the intersection of mental health, writing, and the process of healing through her creative fiction and non-fiction writings. This is her first year on Jenny Magazine. Heather works for Youngstown State University as a First Year Composition teacher.


McKayla Anne Rockwell

McKayla Anne Rockwell recently graduated with her M.A. in English from YSU. She was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, where she currently teaches writing classes. She writes fantasy fiction, poetry, and autofiction.
